How to read this: Vaigai Dam is a multi-purpose state irrigation reservoir, shared across Madurai, Theni, Sivagangai and Ramanathapuram districts for fields and drinking water both. Madurai's allocated drinking-water slice is a small fraction of total dam storage, and we haven't yet found a public daily feed for the city's WTP or distribution data.
